Engineering Project Manager

The Engineering Project Manager coordinates and monitors technical projects from initiation through delivery.  In this role you will serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met. The Engineering Project Manager also ensures that multiple, complex technical projects are completed on schedule and within budget while operating under general supervision. This position requires experience in the areas of software development and implementation with at least three years of project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating and monitoring multiple projects and reporting status
  • Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments
  • Responsible for contributing to improvement of software development processes as well as ensuring the development team follows the process
  • Communicate with other developers, product managers and technical support specialists on product issues
  • Must be capable of understanding the team’s workload and assign tasks as appropriate

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years proven work experience in software engineering
  • 3+ years hands-on Project Management experience
  • Experience with project tracking and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of Software Change Management Practices
  • Must have experience leading teams to successfully deliver products on schedule and within budget
  • Highly capable of managing multiple priorities, teams and deadlines in parallel
  • Ability to understand, manage and gauge status of projects from both a data and personnel standpoint
  • Ability to motivate teams and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to work collaboratively and constructively across organizations to achieve project objectives
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Bachelor and/or Masters degree in technical field, equivalent industry experience is acceptable

DESIRED SKILLS

  • PMP Certification a plus
  • Experience in the area of Agile Development practices a plus
  • Light programming and/or scripting skills (SQL, VBScript, HTML, etc.) a strong plus
