Eric Spivey, Chairman

Eric Spivey has extensive experience building strong and successful global enterprises. Prior to serving as Webroot's chairperson, Spivey served as chairman of the board of Brightmail, Inc., the world's largest provider of anti-spam technology. Prior to Brightmail, Spivey served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of NetGravity, Inc., a leading provider of mission-critical online advertising and direct marketing solutions. Before NetGravity, Spivey was chairman, president and chief executive officer of Netcom On-Line Communications Services, Inc., a global Internet company. Spivey joined Netcom as president of Netcom International. Prior to joining Netcom, Spivey held various senior executive positions with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, a provider of global business and marketing information.

Spivey received a bachelor's degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a master's degree from the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin.

Quentin P. Gallivan, Board Member

Quentin Gallivan is a long-time technology industry veteran with over 20 years of executive operational experience in IT and security. Most recently, Gallivan was CEO at Postini, which became the market leader for secure messaging and compliance solutions delivered on-demand and as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Under Gallivan’s leadership, Postini grew to over 10 million user subscribers and became highly profitable with customers in 25 countries and a 97% renewal rate.

Previous to Postini, Gallivan was the executive VP of Sales and Field Operations and was responsible for the distribution strategy, execution and management of the $500M Security Services division of VeriSign. Before VeriSign, he was VP and general manager of both the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions for Netscape, and held various executive roles at GE based in Asia and the United States.

He attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 1976 through 1980.

David Moll, Board Member

David Moll served as CEO of Webroot Software, Inc. for five years before joining its board. Moll successfully grew Webroot from a small start-up with fewer than 15 employees to a worldwide enterprise with nearly 300 employees. Moll has a varied background and experience with major retail channels like Wal-Mart and Target, as well as leading solution providers, like EDS. During his tenure as CEO for Webroot, Moll was a key influencer in the global policy and legislative efforts in online privacy. Moll has briefed members of both houses of the United States Congress, testified before the Senate Commerce Committee, and in the United Kingdom, briefed members of Parliament.

Moll has a master's degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Jake Reynolds, Board Member

Jake Reynolds has vast experience in the venture capital industry, his primary focus being in the software, eCommerce and business services industries. He has been involved with many investments, including Altiris, BenefitMall (acquired by Allied Capital), Brightmail (acquired by Symantec), Capella Education and Clareon (acquired by BancBoston). Reynolds was an Associate with General Atlantic Partners, focusing on software and business services investments. Reynolds worked closely with many General Atlantic investments including Baan, Compuware, E-Trade Group, Envoy, and Legent. Prior to joining General Atlantic, Reynolds was a member of the mergers and acquisitions group at Lazard Freres & Co, where he focused on the technology and telecom industries.

Reynolds has a master's degree from Columbia Business School where he earned Beta Gamma Sigma honors.

Dick Williams, Board Member and CEO

Dick Williams is president and chief executive officer of Webroot Software. He brings to the role over four decades of executive and operational leadership experience for technology, software and digital media companies. Most recently Williams served as CEO-in-Residence at venture capital firm Accel Partners, where he worked with the Accel team to identify and analyze new ventures. In that role he also advised and assisted portfolio companies and their CEOs on all aspects of their business.

Dick has worked as CEO or Chairman of several category defining companies funded by some of the most successful venture capital firms in the world. Most recently Dick has been Chairman of Hyperic, a leader in open source systems management software for today’s large Web, SaaS, and cloud applications and infrastructures. Hyperic was acquired by SpringSource Global in May 2009. Prior to that, Williams was CEO of Wily Technology, the leader in Web application management, which was acquired by CA (Computer Associates) in 2006. Earlier he was CEO of Illustra Information Technologies, a pioneer of object database technology, which was acquired by Informix in 1996. Dick then co-founded and served as chairman of Quokka Sports, an online immersive sports media company, which completed its initial public offering in 1999.

Williams' executive leadership experience began at IBM, where he spent 22 years in a variety of sales, marketing, product and business management roles, including vice president for the company’s Data Systems and General Products divisions. He then served as president and CEO of Digital Research, which he turned around and later sold to Novell. At Novell Williams served as executive vice president of sales and support, and general manager of Novell’s Digital Research Systems Group.

Williams is an outside director of Fortify Software, 3VR Security and Chairman of Altor Networks.
