Pierre-Michel "Mike" Kronenberg is responsible for leading the consumer engineering team for Webroot Software, Inc.
Kronenberg brings more than a decade of experience in software solutions, security and business development. Most recently, Kronenberg served as the chief technology officer for PC Tools, Inc. where he led the integration of behavior based threat detection in PC Tools Spyware Doctor and Internet Security Suite. He joined PC Tools following the 2007 acquisition of Novatix Corporation, a private company that he founded and managed. The company was focused on the development of advanced behavior based threat detection technology, which received multiple awards including the PC Magazine Editors’ Choice Award in 2007 and 2008.
Prior to Novatix, Kronenberg successfully founded and operated several organizations including SendPhotos, Inc., a provider of innovative digital picture sharing solutions and Mijenix Corporation. At Mijenix, Kronenberg pioneered and lead the development of an ASP-based (SaaS) version of Mijenix’s award-winning Windows utility software. He helped build the company into a global retail presence in over 10,000 stores including Wal-Mart, Target, Staples, Office Depot, CompUSA and Best Buy. Following its acquisition by Ontrack Data International, Inc., Kronenberg served as chief technology officer at Mijenix and continued to help establish the company as the world leader in data recovery, leading to its acquisition by Kroll in 2002.
In addition to his technical expertise and entrepreneurism, Kronenberg is tri-lingual, speaking English, French and German. He holds a PhD and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin and one from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland.
