Consumers and Enterprises Continue to Choose Webroot Over Competition for Best Protection against Spyware

Consumers Push Award-Winning Spy Sweeper Product to Retail's Top Spot; Enterprise Customers Make Webroot Number One in Overall Revenue and Installed Base

Boulder, CO., March 26, 2006

Consumers and Enterprises continue to choose anti-spyware provider Webroot over the competition to protect their PCs and systems from the damaging effects of spyware, according to recent reports from The NPD Group and analyst firm The Radicati Group.

A recent report by The NPD Group for January 2006 found that Webroot had the number one share of Distributor security sales in January, displacing Symantec from the top slot. According to the report, Webroot secured 27.7 percent market share while Symantec held the second place slot at 21.5 percent in January. Cisco, Computer Associates and McAfee next with 8.5 percent market share each - plus or minus a few tenths of a percentage point.

Webroot has also secured the top spot on the enterprise side according to a recent report by analyst firm The Radicati Group. In the report entitled "Corporate Anti-Spyware Market 2006-2010", The Radicati Group ranked Webroot number one in terms of overall revenue and for the desktop anti-spyware installed base.

"We're thrilled that so many consumers and enterprises continue to choose Webroot to protect their most valued assets," said David Moll, CEO of Webroot Software. "Since we first introduced Spy Sweeper in 2003, Webroot has been dedicated to setting the industry standard by which all other anti-spyware vendors are measured. Our commitment to product excellence, superior technology, and customer satisfaction has led us to the top of the industry and given us the opportunity to protect millions of consumers and enterprises from the most insidious spyware threats. We look forward to continuing to expand our market presence and furthering the anti-spyware cause."

Webroot Spy Sweeper and Spy Sweeper Enterprise have recently won a host of industry awards. In February, Spy Sweeper received its fifth Editors Choice Award from PC Magazine while Spy Sweeper Enterprise was named best overall anti-malware solution and the best anti-spyware solution by SC Magazine.
