Webroot, a leading provider of security solutions for the consumer, enterprise and SMB markets, today announced the appointment of Steve Holton as Senior Vice President (SVP) of North American Sales and Field Operations. Holton has extensive experience in the SaaS and security sectors and will play a vital role in accelerating adoption of Webroot’s security software as a service (SaaS) products.
"Over 60 percent of mid-sized companies in North America will be adopting SaaS-based solutions this year and Webroot is well-positioned to provide our leading security SaaS solutions in North America and all major international markets," said Mike Irwin, COO, Webroot. "Given the market dynamics and Steve’s success with rapidly increasing sales in the security SaaS arena, we feel he will be a great addition to our team and a major contributor to our growth strategies."
Holton has a proven track record of driving record sales numbers for both startups and larger established companies. Holton most recently was SVP and General Manager, Managed Services (SaaS), for Entrust Inc. where he oversaw all global sales for Entrust’s security SaaS products and North American sales for all software products. Within one year, Holton’s SaaS sales team increased bookings by 40 percent and recorded its best quarterly sales performance in six years. During his tenure, Entrust booked a record number of transactions and new customers and took customer renewal rates to 98 percent.
Prior to Entrust, Holton spent nearly five years as Vice President of North America Sales at RightNow Technologies (NASDAQ:RNOW). Holton built and executed a scaleable go-to-market plan and SaaS sales machine that helped grow RightNow from a start-up company into a global leader for on-demand CRM software. Holton was instrumental in RightNow Technology’s successful IPO and rapid revenue rise from a $2M to $65M concern.
Holton holds a master of business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University.
