Boulder, CO – March 24, 2009
Webroot, a leading provider of security solutions for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, has been honored with the accolade of ’Messaging Product of the Year’ for the Webroot® Email Security SaaS solution at the Network Computing Awards, held on March 19, 2009 in London.
Out of 24 categories overall, Webroot was nominated and short listed in six, including ’Security Product of the Year’ and ’Environmental Product of the Year’. However, the ’Messaging Product of the Year’ award is particularly noteworthy to Webroot as it demonstrates the IT industry’s recognition of the company’s position as a major contender within the security SaaS market. The Webroot Email Security SaaS service handles billions of messages for thousands of corporate, education, and government customers worldwide.
The award was nominated and voted on by the IT Buyers who read Britain’s longest running networking publication, Network Computing. For this award, Webroot successfully competed against other major companies in the sector such as Symantec, Barracuda and F-Secure.
Webroot CEO Peter Watkins said, "With the very intense competition to win these awards, and having beaten other highly respected solution providers, I am truly thrilled that the Webroot Email Security SaaS solution has been voted ’Messaging Product of the Year’. At Webroot, we are continuously appreciative of the acknowledgement we receive from our peers, customers and channel partners in the U.K.," Watkins said.
Ian Moyse, Webroot EMEA Channel Director, commented, "Being chosen over our larger competitors within the SaaS market for this hotly contested award is continued validation of the commitment we bring. Webroot continues to grow within the Email and Web Security SaaS markets, protecting over 3 million end users worldwide. We are absolutely focused on delivering innovative security solutions to protect against the growing malware threat and this acknowledgement motivates us to further strengthen our status as a leader in the market," Moyse said.
