On a periodic basis, cybercriminals are spamvertising malicious campaigns impersonating Verizon Wireless to tens of thousands of Verizon customers across the globe in an attempt to trick them into interacting with the fake emails. Throughout 2012, we intercepted two campaigns pretending to come from the company, followed by another campaign intercepted last month. Spamvertised ‘Your Recent eBill from Verizon Wireless’ themed emails serve client-side exploits and malware

Throughout 2012, we intercepted two malicious campaigns impersonating Verizon Wireless in an attempt to trick its customers into clicking on links pointing to fake eBills. It appears that cybercriminals are back in the game, with yet another Verizon Wireless themed malicious campaign, enticing users to click on the malicious link found in the email. Once users click on the link, they’re automatically exposed to the client-side exploits served by the latest version of the Black Hole Exploit Kit. Cybercriminals impersonate Verizon Wireless, serve client-side exploits and malware

Verizon Wireless customers, beware! For over a week now, cybercriminals have been persistently spamvertising millions of emails impersonating the company, in an attempt to trick current and prospective customers into clicking on the client-side exploits and malware serving links found in the malicious email.
