Webroot Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 Named as Finalist for SC Magazine 2006 Best Anti-Spyware Award

SC Magazine readers recognize Spy Sweeper Enterprise among the best anti-spyware software protection

Boulder, CO – November 15, 2005

Webroot Software's, Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 has been nominated as a finalist in SC Magazine's 2006 SC Awards for Best Anti-spyware in the Reader Trust Technology category. The SC Awards are voted on by the readers of SC Magazine and the SC Awards Council, a group of senior CSOs around the world. Winners will be announced at the SC Awards Gala being held on February 14, during the RSA Conference in San Jose, Calif.

"SC Magazine readers are some of the savviest people in the security industry, and their support of Spy Sweeper Enterprise is yet another example of the vast following our software has acquired in the past year," said Vinay Goel, vice president worldwide marketing at Webroot Software Inc. "Businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the serious threats spyware poses, but we still have a long way to go in the fight to protect enterprises from these types of intrusions. Webroot is fully committed to continue our efforts to educate businesses and focus our engineering efforts to develop new and effective ways to combat this spreading problem."

According to the latest State of Spyware report issued by Webroot last week, spyware is becoming a global concern and infection rates for the most malicious types of spyware are continuing to increase. However, many corporations surveyed have yet to protect their information with suitable anti-spyware software.

Webroot's Spy Sweeper Enterprise 2.5 is designed to protect businesses of all sizes from the most malicious types of spyware. The software provides unparalleled remediation of the most damaging types of spyware, including system monitors, keyloggers, trojans and remote threads in core processes and rootkits, and protects customers from more than 100,000 unique traces of spyware by automatically updating spyware definitions at least twice a week. Since its introduction in June 2004, Spy Sweeper Enterprise has sold 2.5 million licenses and is deployed across more than 8,500 businesses and institutions.
