Boulder, CO – December 18, 2006
Webroot Software, the leading provider of anti-spyware software for consumer, enterprise and SMB markets, today announced a distribution agreement with Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor. This alliance further demonstrates Webroot's commitment to strategically expand its channel relationships and extend the accessibility of its award-winning anti-spyware software, Spy Sweeper™ Enterprise.
Under terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro will distribute Spy Sweeper Enterprise in North America as well as provide marketing, training, and customer service and support to its Webroot resellers. Webroot will also provide a multitude of resources to assist Ingram Micro solution providers with their sales efforts by leveraging Webroot's national field-based channel account managers, systems engineers and inside sales team.
"We recognize that spyware is a growing global concern. This agreement with Webroot gives us the ability to offer our resellers a valuable solution that effectively protects organizations from threats posed by spyware attacks," said Diane Lees, senior category manager, software, Ingram Micro U. S. "We are confident that, in turn, we will help Webroot forge beneficial, long-lasting relationships with experienced resellers that will contribute to the continued proliferation of Spy Sweeper Enterprise."
By the end of 2006, Webroot expects a four-fold increase in enterprise sales generated by its channel partners and is on track to achieve this goal.
"We have gained significant traction since launching our channel program at the beginning of the year. This relationship with Ingram Micro is a testament to the commitment we made to our partners - to increase their profitability and grow their businesses," said David Moll, CEO of Webroot Software Inc. "As Webroot continues to execute its channel strategy and grow as a channel-focused organization throughout 2006 and beyond, we will continue to provide the resources and support services to make it easy to do business with Webroot."
Since launching the Channel Edge Partner Program, Webroot has rolled out several valuable resources to support its channel partners throughout the sales process, including the Partner Portal, Enterprise SpyAudit and Opportunity Registration. Such resources will be made available to Ingram Micro resellers. Channel Edge offers two distinct categories of membership: Standard and Premium. Each category offers its own corresponding benefits and requirements aimed at helping partners increase revenues and enhance their market position.
"Having an already established relationship with Ingram Micro, this alliance with Webroot means we are now able to gain access to the leading anti-spyware software via a trusted distributor who will provide us with the same level of service and support we are accustomed to receiving," said Pierre Kerbage, president, Network Logistic. "Additionally, we will gain access to the valuable resources Webroot currently provides its direct channel partners. This creates an ideal channel reseller opportunity because everyone wins."
