Boulder, CO – September 13, 2005

Webroot Software, Inc., the leading provider of anti-spyware software and other security technologies for the enterprise and consumers, today announced the appointment of Seksom Suriyapa, a renowned security industry executive to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Business Development.

As Senior Vice President of Business Development at Webroot, Suriyapa will be responsible for forging new distribution channels and relationships, and driving the company's OEM and acquisition strategies.

Suriyapa most recently served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at McAfee Inc., a leading anti-virus and computer security company. While at McAfee, Suriyapa served as Co-chair of the company's Strategic Steering Committee and was responsible for numerous acquisitions and divestitures, including the purchases of host and network-based IPS companies, IntruVert Networks and Entercept, as well as the sale of the Sniffer and Magic business units. He also helped drive McAfee's overall corporate strategy and to set the long-term strategic direction of the company.

"As Webroot continues to expand its global presence, it is essential that we explore new frontiers in terms of distribution, markets and partners," said David Moll, CEO of Webroot. "Seksom possesses the experience and knowledge to not only explore these expansive opportunities, but also harness them to accelerate the company's overall strategic direction and further cement Webroot's leadership position."

Prior to joining McAfee, Suriyapa served as the Vice President of Business Development at NightFire Software, a private company backed by Sequoia Capital, U.S. Venture Partners and New Enterprise Associates. He has also worked as an investment banker for the technology sector, serving in a Vice President capacity at both Morgan Stanley and Salomon Smith Barney.

"Spyware is the most dynamic and insidious IT threat challenging businesses and consumers today. The increasingly pervasive nature of spyware demands a best-of-breed anti-spyware solution that focuses solely on protecting customers with the most advanced research and most advanced technologies," said Suriyapa. "Webroot is highly regarded within Fortune 500 companies and considered the leader in anti-spyware research and protection by the industry's top technology influencers. I look forward to expanding that recognition and contributing to the impressive growth path Webroot has forged."
