Menlo Security, the only cybersecurity company that eliminates malware from Web and email without the need for endpoint software, today announced a partnership with Webroot®, a leading provider of real-time, actionable threat intelligence, to deliver granular threat intelligence for Menlo Security’s Isolation Platform through integration with the Webroot BrightCloud Web Classification Service. The URL classification information provided by Webroot delivers a key component of Menlo Security’s Web Isolation Service, enabling robust forensic and policy abilities, crucial for IT and security professionals.
For most enterprises, restricting access to unproductive and known-malicious websites is a best practice for preventing productivity loss and reducing risk. However, according to a recent report1, more than 20 percent of the top 1 million websites are running vulnerable software and are therefore open to compromise by attackers. As a result, even sites considered "safe" may be compromised and used to serve malware at any time. The Menlo Security Isolation Platform provides a new level of security that prevents any malware from reaching user devices via compromised or malicious websites. By isolating and executing all Web content in the public or private cloud and delivering only safe, malware-free rendering information to the user’s device, the Menlo Security Isolation Platform eliminates the risk of malware.
The Web classification data and threat intelligence from Webroot enable administrators of the Menlo Security Web Isolation Platform to establish granular policies that selectively allow, block, or isolate websites based on 83+ categories. This combines the productivity-enhancing benefits of advanced Web filtering with the unique malware-prevention benefits of the Isolation Platform. Additionally, the classification intelligence from Webroot augments the logs and reports provided by the Web Isolation Service, enabling administrators to track and analyze all Web usage.
The Webroot BrightCloud Web Classification Service is available immediately and is included as an essential part of Menlo Security’s Web Isolation Service.
"Menlo Security is taking a unique and innovative approach to eliminate all Web malware. By isolating all Web content, they are in a unique position to provide IT administrators with a policy paradigm unmatched by the industry," said Mike Malloy, executive vice president of products and strategy at Webroot. "As the number one provider of threat intelligence services in the world, we are excited to be a strategic partner."
"Webroot has the most comprehensive and effective Web classification service in the market," said Poornima DeBolle, chief product officer at Menlo Security. "Integrating the Webroot BrightCloud Web Classification Service with our Web Isolation Platform enables us to give our customers comprehensive control, security, and visibility for their organization’s Web activity."
