There\u2019s no doubt we\u2019ve all had to change our\nwork habits as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic. What is a cyber resilient culture?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\nasked Principal Product Manager Philipp Karcher what a cyber resilient culture\nis and what it takes to establish one at an organization. He said a culture of\ncyber resilience recognizes that everyone \u2013 not just IT \u2013 has role in cyber\nsecurity. Karcher defines cyber resilience as the application of the same\nprinciples of IT resiliency so that employees:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business benefits of security training <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When businesses internalize this culture,\nthey\u2019re better prepared, better able to respond and better positioned to experience\ngrowth, Karcher says. Asking employees to devote time and effort toward\nsecurity awareness is an investment in the future of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, businesses that don\u2019t actively\nwork toward a culture of cyber resilience are more vulnerable to cyberattack. Their\nemployees are more likely to practice poor password hygiene, click on something\nthey shouldn\u2019t and make other mistakes, like misconfiguring access rights or accidentally\nsending someone the wrong file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyber Resilience training delivers results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While IT resilience focuses on hardening data\nand applications, your overall cyber resilience as an organization depends\nequally on making users resilient. This should include a program of training\nand communication on security issues employees need to be aware of and education\non how to properly respond to incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cyber resilience can only become a part of\nculture through sustained, long term engagement \u2013 not just annual check-box\ntraining. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
