BOULDER, CO - April 6, 2010
Webroot, a leading Internet security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, today announced the appointment of Lee Allen as Vice President, North American Retail Sales. Allen is responsible for overall sales strategy and channel management to drive aggressive market growth for Webroot’s consumer products in North America.
"Lee has a proven track record of creating strategies to optimize and extend distribution channels, and to maximize brand exposure," said Don Beck, senior vice president, Worldwide Field Operations, Webroot. "That type of results-driven leadership will be critical as we further strengthen our leadership in the consumer security market."
Allen comes to Webroot most recently from Symantec, where he directed all retail sales and distribution operations in North America, as well as all lines of consumer business in Latin America. His strategic management and thought leadership was instrumental in accelerating the company’s market growth by creating new channels and distribution contracts.
Prior to Symantec, Lee was vice president of Retail Sales and Business Development at Vonage, where he successfully enhanced channel relationships to produce over 90 percent market share in US retail for the VoIP category.
Allen began his career in sales at Apple, where he spent 14 years in roles including national sales manager for US Consumer Sales and acting vice president of the company’s US Consumer Division. Allen also held leadership positions at Fujitsu PC Corporation, Compaq and Iterated Systems, culminating in nearly three decades of consumer retail and channel experience.
Allen received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
