Webroot Software, Inc., a leading security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SMB markets, today announced that it is reinforcing its position in the security Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) market by appointing one of the leading innovators in the category to its Board. Quentin Gallivan, the most recent CEO of Postini, grew the company to over 10-million users before its sale to search-engine giant Google.
"Quentin possesses unique expertise in the security SaaS market," said Peter Watkins, CEO, Webroot. "With his addition to our Board and the success of Webroot® Email Security SaaS, we are well-positioned to continue delivering channel-friendly perimeter security SaaS solutions to keep SMBs safe from Internet threats."
As CEO, Gallivan built Postini into a SaaS powerhouse, with over 35,000 companies using its service globally. Gallivan has also led efforts to build sales, marketing and distribution strategies across multiple geographies for VeriSign’s Security Services division, Netscape Communications and General Electric Information Services. Gallivan previously sat on the Board of Directors for companies including Postini, VeriSign Japan and Information Services Dentsu, a publicly held technology company in Japan.
According to Gallivan, "The security SaaS market continues to see strong growth. SMBs need easy-to-manage, affordable security, which SaaS provides. I firmly believe that Webroot’s strategy and solutions in this category will quickly establish them as the leader in this high-growth market."
