W32.Worm.P2P

This tricky worm, armed with an advanced Java toolkit, has recently been seen in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks.

Currently it targets Emule and LimeWire, two popular (and free) file-sharing networks. Up until now, worms propagating over P2P networks could only targeting other P2P network users. But what makes this worm so interesting is that, even if you are not a P2P user, it will covertly download a custom P2P install package on your computer and get to work.

How can you avoid this infection? First, we recommend avoiding P2P networks as they're hotspots for worms like W32.Worm.P2P. Second, since avoiding P2P networks might not be enough, it is a very good idea to have an effective antivirus installed on your computer.
