Webroot, a leader in cloud-based security intelligence solutions, today announced it has been named as a ‘Visionary’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms. The annual vendor comparison recognized Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business – Endpoint Protection for its behavior-based threat detection and rollback functionality. Webroot also received the highest Net Promoter scores of any vendor in the Magic Quadrant. This key metric reflects how likely a customer is to recommend the company or its service to friends and colleagues.
Gartner credited Webroot SecureAnywhere Business – Endpoint Protection with being one of the few products to focus primarily on behavioral rules to identify threats. This approach is often considered to be more effective against new threats than traditional threat signatures. The report described the Webroot® client as “small and fast” and called out the availability of Webroot’s endpoint security and mobile device management functions in the same cloud-based management console. Webroot was also recognized as the only vendor to capture “dwell time” to identify how long malware has been present on an endpoint.
“Being named a Visionary by such a respected firm as Gartner is strong validation for Webroot’s innovative approach to endpoint protection,” said Mike Malloy, executive vice president of products and strategy at Webroot. “We believe businesses are also recognizing the value of our approach, as we now protect well over a million business endpoints, and are increasing our users by nearly 100 percent per year.”
Webroot’s cloud-based threat detection, high performance, lightweight agents, and single, web-based point of control have changed the way businesses think about protecting mobile devices, PCs and servers. Using global threat intelligence and innovative behavioral analysis, every user of Webroot SecureAnywhere solutions is protected the moment a new threat is detected anywhere in the world; regardless of whether they are on or off the corporate network.
