Important Service Notification

Your Webroot product needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled in order to keep your protection active. Please follow the steps below to complete the process.

Part 1: Uninstall your existing Webroot product.

  1. Follow the steps for your Operating System:

    Mac OS X:

    If you’re on a Mac computer, click here for instructions.

    Windows XP:

    Click Start, then click Run. In the Run window, type appwiz.cpl and press Enter on your keyboard.

    Windows Vista/Windows 7:

    Click Start, or the Windows icon. In the Search field, type appwiz.cpl and press Enter on your keyboard.

    Windows 8:

    Move your cursor to the bottom right of the screen to open the Charm Bar menu. Click Search, then type appwiz.cpl and press Enter on your keyboard.

    Windows 10:

    In the Cortana Search bar, type appwiz.cpl and press Enter on your keyboard.

  2. This will open your Control Panel to the list of all programs currently installed on your computer.
  3. Scroll down the programs list until you see the Webroot security product.
  4. Click the Webroot security product entry once to select it, then click Uninstall/Remove.
  5. If you see a message that says, “It is necessary to log in as an administrator to access this feature.” click OK.
  6. When asked if you are sure you want to uninstall, click Yes to continue.
  7. If prompted with a CAPTCHA, enter the requested characters and click Enter. Webroot now removes itself from your computer. If you experience issues while uninstalling, click here to contact Support.

Part 2: Download Webroot SecureAnywhere® AntiVirus

  1. Click the correct download button for your operating system:

    Download for Windows Download for Mac

  2. After downloading the file, double-click it to begin the installation process.
  3. At the Webroot installation screen, click Agree and Install.
  4. Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus will now install and scan your computer.
