Webroot® RockSafe and Cymtec Sentry Fill Growing Network Security Gap for SMBs and Remote Offices

BOULDER, CO - May 6, 2008

Webroot, a leading provider of security solutions for the consumer, enterprise and SMB markets, and Cymtec Systems, Inc., a provider of network security and performance management solutions, today announced a multi-layered solution to protect small to midsize businesses at the perimeter. Using the Webroot® RockSafe Software Development Kit (SDK), Cymtec has integrated Webroot’s market-leading antispyware technology with Cymtec Sentry®, the first network security and performance appliance to safeguard small and multiple remote and branch offices. SMB and enterprise customers will now be able to prevent even the most difficult to detect threats before they reach the desktop via integrated technology that places Webroot’s antispyware protection at the network perimeter.

"SMBs make up the majority of the world’s business landscape. We are pleased to team with Cymtec to develop a solution that addresses the growing need for better perimeter security," said Mike Irwin, COO, Webroot. "Last year alone, we saw a 500 percent increase in the number of malware signatures. This solution will give customers the industry’s leading antispyware technology in a perimeter-based solution."

Webroot’s antispyware technology provides a comprehensive first layer of defense against malicious threats for perimeter security. A scalable enterprise solution, Webroot’s antispyware technology delivers protection against all types of spyware like Trojans, keyloggers and system monitors. At the perimeter, it extends this protection to inbound and outbound network traffic by detecting and removing existing spyware and blocking new threats before they can impact a network.

Andrew S. Rubin, Cymtec Systems President and CEO, said, "This is an incredible partnership for Cymtec, and a tremendous technology win for Cymtec’s customers and companies in the SMB market. By delivering Webroot’s detection capability within Cymtec Sentry, we are now ensuring an unsurpassed level of protection for environments that are typically unsecured altogether. This product has a staggering value proposition for small, remote, and branch office environments and we are receiving exactly that feedback from our customers every day."

Cymtec Sentry delivers innovative anti-malware detection, policy and web enforcement, traffic analysis, and quality of service (QoS) that is affordable and easy to use and maintain. Webroot antispyware technology is now integrated with the unique Dynamic Threat Protection (DTP) Engine, which is at the heart of Cymtec Sentry. The DTP Engine consists of multiple best-of-breed detection filters which together protect against a multitude of threats and violations, including spyware and malware.

The combination of Cymtec Sentry with Webroot antispyware gives small businesses and branch offices and organizations access to a cost-effective, enterprise-class defense against threats. Designed for organizations with limited IT resources, the appliance provides seamless integration, efficiency and small memory requirements, making it easy for SMBs to protect intellectual property, compliance, network stability and other valuable assets.

Cymtec Systems develops network security and performance management products and services that deliver unmatched simplicity of use and the industry's lowest cost of ownership. These qualities are fueling rapid growth in markets that have been burdened by overly complex and expensive security and performance solutions that were designed for organizations with very different functional needs. Cymtec Systems is broadly and strongly endorsed by customers in industries including finance, datacenters, legal, IT, and manufacturing.
