Webroot and Computergate Partner to Deliver Managed Web Security Service for Businesses

Webroot SecureAnywhere® Provides Real-Time Antivirus and Web Protection through Remote Monitoring and Management to Reduce IT Workflow

Sydney, Australia - August 21, 2013

Webroot, a leader in cloud-based security intelligence solutions, today announced a partnership agreement with Computergate, an Australian managed service provider (MSP). Through this partnership, Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business – Endpoint Protection and the Webroot® Web Security Service will be deployed in conjunction with Computergate’s Guardian remote monitoring and management platform to create a complete cloud-based managed antivirus and Web gateway solution. The combined offering enables Computergate to protect its customers more effectively, increase their network administrator efficiency, and lower overhead costs.

Businesses that rely on the security and availability of their IT infrastructure, but do not have adequate in-house IT resources or expertise, are increasingly turning to MSPs such as Computergate to ensure system protection and maintain flexibility as the needs of their business grow. MSPs are rapidly standardizing with cloud-based security solutions from Webroot because of its superior efficacy, best-in-class performance, and easy, remote administration.

"After a thorough assessment of our cloud and managed service programs, Computergate chose Webroot for its exceptional speed and flexibility, its small install and scanning footprint, as well as the revolutionary 'Rapid Rollback' functionality that greatly reduces the need for re-imaging and remediation," said Mario Greco, CEO at Computergate. "By implementing Webroot SecureAnywhere, we expect to quickly see a significant reduction in the amount of time our staff spends addressing potential infections, and in turn, this will provide our customers with an even more seamless managed antivirus experience than our previous solution could offer."

The partnership will enable Computergate to efficiently manage its clients’ endpoint security policies and address potential breaches whether users are inside or outside the corporate firewall. Webroot's unique cloud-based architecture provides instant protection for endpoint devices through its extremely small cloud-connected security agents. These agents will link Computergate customers to Webroot’s powerful global security intelligence network, thereby instantly protecting them against new threats as soon as they identified anywhere in the world.

"We are thrilled to be partnered with Computergate," said Crispin Kerr, Webroot’s managing director of the Asia Pacific region. "Their focus on a superior customer experience, and the flexibility of their Guardian platform, is a perfect match with Webroot’s streamlined security solutions."

As well as endpoint protection, Computergate will offer Webroot’s flexible and unobtrusive Web gateway protection as an additional security layer to stop online threats before they reach end users.
