Webroot Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Notice and Procedure

At Webroot Inc. (“Webroot”), we value the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to have the same values.

IF YOU ARE NOTIFYING WEBROOT OF THE COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT OF ANY OF YOUR CONTENT THAT APPEARS ON ONE OR MORE WEBROOT WEBSITES (THE “WEBSITES”), THE STEPS DESCRIBED BELOW ARE YOUR EXCLUSIVE METHOD FOR NOTIFYING WEBROOT OF SUCH INFRINGEMENT.  

THIS PROCEDURE IS TO BE USED SOLELY FOR NOTIFYING WEBROOT OF COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT CLAIMS PURSUANT TO THE DMCA, AND MAY NOT BE USED TO NOTIFY WEBROOT OF AN UNRELATED DISPUTE.

Requirements for Sufficient Notice.  In order to be effective, each written notification of claimed infringement must contain:

1.    either a physical or electronic signature of the complaining party and the name, physical address, email address and telephone number of such complaining party;
2.    a description of the allegedly infringing material that is reasonably sufficient to permit Webroot to identify and locate such material, including the URL where the allegedly infringing content is located;
3.    a statement that the complaining party has a good faith belief that there is no legal basis for the use of such materials; and
4.    a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

Upon review of a notice satisfying the requirements above, Webroot will investigate and may remove the allegedly infringing content.
